In the late 80's, The Boys soared to stardom with charismatic hits like "Dial My Heart" and "Lucky Charm." With girls all over the world screaming their names, this quartet of brothers put a modern twist on family bands by mixing charismatic melodies with high-energy dance routines. Managed by their parents, The Abdulsamad siblings (Khiry, Hakim, Tajh, and Bilal) got their start in 1984 as street performers in Venice Beach, California. Four years later, they rose to the top of the charts with their debut platinum album "Messages from the Boys" that included a pair of LA Reid and Babyface-produced #1 singles. Handling the demands of life in the public eye became overwhelming for the teenage brothers, and after releasing their third album in 1992, The Boys abruptly abandoned their careers in the spotlight for a life of solitude in Gambia, West Africa. The series sheds much-deserved light on some of the most influential, talented and, somehow, forgotten R&B, soul, funk, hip hop, disco, and gospel artists of the last 30 years. Also featuring Trick Daddy, Deborah Cox, Avant, Shirley Caesar, Blue Magic, Brand Nubian and Lost Boyz, season 12 of TV One's critically acclaimed and award-winning Unsung uncovers the personal triumphs and struggles of these musical legends. UNCENSORED Out of the shadows of her famous sister, Tamar Braxton became the singer extraordinaire she always knew she would become. Her life is a story of how faith, family, and redemption evolve in the world of showbiz and reality TV fame. "Uncensored," an edgy new autobiography series that features the first person accounts of today's hottest celebrities, dives deep into the life of Tamar Braxton with its second episode on Sunday, February 25 at 10/9C on TV One. For as long as she can remember, Tamar Braxton knew her star would shine. With a love for music and singing, Tamar grew out of the sister act band that began her singing career to become an award-winning solo artist in her own right. A hit reality TV show propped up Tamar's talents with a newfound fame, making her the other Braxton name that millions would come to know and follow. Please click here and here for clips from the episode. In its first season, "UNCENSORED" dives deep into your favorite personalities as they reveal secrets to their success, obstacles they've faced, and how they manage this new world of social media that has helped but sometimes haunted their careers. The 10-episode biography series gives unprecedented access to stars of film, television, music, and pop culture, including including LaLa Anthony, Snoop Dogg, Nia Long, NeNe Leakes, Charlemagne Da God, Le'Andria Johnson, and more as they personally reveal their own stories, in their own words, in the places their stories unfolded.
