Why Ava Duvernay Walked Away From 'The Black Panther'

When it comes to being creative and allowing your creativity to flow freely as the Kenny Rodgers song goes "You Got Know When to Hold'em, You Got Know When to Fold'em, You Got to Know When to Walk away and Know When to Run!". ​According to Rolling Out Magazine director Ava Duvernay was in talks to direct the Black Panther. She would have been the first woman to direct a Marvel Film. But there were creative differences and she and Marvel didn’t see eye to eye, she felt it would not have been an Ava Duvernay Film. She had a hard decision to make. She choose to step away from the project and work on projects that were important to her.
